ClearShield™ protected glass is a polymer shield that makes the surface of the glass chemically non-reactive (inert). What this means is that salts and minerals will not chemically react with the glass as they will with unprotected glass. ClearShield™ prevents contaminants from bonding to the glass. Furthermore, while the salts and minerals will still build up on top of the ClearShield™ the non-stick property means that they buildup only half as fast and are 100% easier to clean.
